Tom Brady was criticized this week for declining to decide between the Seattle Seahawks and his former team, the New England Patriots, in the Super Bowl draft.
“I don’t have a dog fighting in this game,” Brady said on Monday’s episode of the “Let’s Go” podcast, sparking a flurry of negative reactions from Patriots fans, reporters and former players.

Several of Brady’s former New England teammates have accused him of a lack of loyalty and belief, including Vince Wilfork and Teddy Bruschi.
“Well, that’s what it’s like Tom. I met a big dog in the game, and I’ll tell you right now. That’s my son,” Bruschi said Wednesday on Radio Row’s WEEI show. “(Mike) Vrabel, teammate for eight years. Like a brother to me.”
Bruschi and Vrabel played eight seasons with the Patriots from 2001 to 2008, winning three Super Bowls together and anchoring New England’s defense as Pro Bowl linebackers. Bruschi, now an NFL analyst for ESPN, has spent his entire 13-year NFL career in Foxborough.

Unlike Brady, Bruschi is willing to publicly support his former teammate and former team. He picks the Patriots to win every week on “NFL Countdown,” and he’s not stopping now.
“We have a dog fighting. My dog is big and I’m rooting for him,” Bruschi added. “I like the way this team plays. I like the way they win…No matter what game they’re in, they know how to win.”
New England’s lovable underdogs have been compared to the 2001 team that shocked the St. Louis Rams in the Super Bowl, so it’s no surprise Bruschi enjoys watching them play. He even told Vrabel they reminded him of his old team from 24 years ago.
Can Vrabel achieve another great year as a head coach? We’ll have to wait until Sunday to find out.
