Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic exited the game against the Miami Heat early Monday night with an apparent left knee injury.
Jokic was awkward on his feet and his left knee buckled as he stood in the paint in the final seconds of the first half on Monday at Kzaya Center. As Jokic tried to guard Jamey Jaquez Jr., his teammate Spencer Jones stepped back onto Jokic’s feet, and that’s when Jokic’s knee buckled.

After taking an errant step, he immediately fell to the ground and began to writhe in pain while clutching his left knee, while Kyle Ware made an easy layup to tie the game at halftime. Jokic finally stood up and walked to the locker room alone, but he was limping and barely putting any weight on his left leg.
Jokic did not start the second half and the team initially said he would not return due to a left knee injury. According to “The Athletic” reporter Sam Amick, Jokic has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. The exact circumstances of his injuries are unclear at this time. He is expected to undergo further tests on his knee on Tuesday.
