No. 3 Michigan rallies in thriller to deliver No. 5 Nebraska its first loss of the season after 20-0 start

Nebraska is no longer undefeated.

The fifth-ranked Cornhuskers came into Michigan State and controlled much of Tuesday’s game against the third-ranked Wolverines. But in the face of Nebraska’s hot three-point shooting early on, Michigan tied the score and eventually won 75-72.

Nebraska made three game-tying 3-pointers in the final seconds of the game. But each attempt fell short, allowing Michigan to escape with the win.

Michigan led 3-2 until a 9-2 run to take a 74-72 lead with 1:04 left in the game. It didn’t fall behind again and handed Nebraska its first loss of the season after a 20-0 start, the best start in program history.

With this loss, only two undefeated teams remain in the top 25. No. 1 Arizona held off a late rally from No. 13 BYU on Tuesday night to improve to 20-0. No. 24 Miami (Ohio) also improves to 20-0 heading into a game against UMass later Tuesday.

Nebraska (20-1) joins Michigan State (19-1) among the one-loss teams.
