A Nebraska quarterback committed to recruiting one of the top tight ends in the 2027 class and took to social media to ask for help. Trey Taylor is working on tight end Olafemi “Joy” Hunter.
Hunter was a three-star tight end out of Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. He is 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 255 pounds. The recruit recently named Nebraska, Pitt, NC State, Georgia Tech and Syracuse as his top five schools.

Taylor is coming off a stellar 2025 season at Carmel Catholic. In 11 games, the four-star quarterback passed for 3,571 yards, 38 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also ran 77 times for 633 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Taylor is expected to transfer from Carmel Catholic High School in Illinois to Millard South School in Omaha at the end of his junior year. Taylor is expected to replace former starting quarterback Jeter Tomala, who signed with the University of Alabama.
Taylor actually credits his quarterbacks coach with bringing Hunter to his attention. The quarterback said his coach thinks Hunter is a good fit for Nebraska’s offense.
When I first saw his movie, I thought, who is that? When my QB coach calls and says this is the type of TE you have to have in this offense, that’s what I need to hear. Husker football fans watch his film and tell me what you think.
Nebraska’s Class of 2027 currently has nine commitments. The class ranks 15th nationally and 6th in the Big Ten.
