More details have emerged Regarding the recent arrest of Falcons linebacker James Pearce Jr., he has claimed innocence through his attorney.
Per Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com, Rickea Jackson of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks has been trying to end her relationship with Pierce. Jackson told police she saw Pierce approach her car in a white Lamborghini SUV on Saturday morning. When she stopped at a red light, Pierce got out of the car and tried to open the door.

She drove off and headed to the police station. He returned to the car and chased her. Jackson said Pierce crashed his SUV into the back of her car. After she tried to drive away, he allegedly hit her car head-on.
When police arrived at the crime scene, they saw Pierce standing outside the car with the door open. When an officer drew his gun and ordered Pierce to the ground, Pierce went back inside and closed the door. The officer opened the door. Pierce pulled the door shut and locked it.
Pierce then drove away, striking the officer in the knee.
Police pursued Pierce until his SUV crashed. He got out of the car and ran. Police caught him and he allegedly continued to resist arrest.

Pierce faces five felony and one misdemeanor charges.

We look forward to vigorously defending our client and remain confident that he will continue to make positive contributions to his team and the community he serves.”
The NFL also said the situation will be reviewed under its personal conduct policy.
