The Tennessee Titans are about to begin free agency and will enter a period of roster vacancies. While the fan base is excited about the available salary cap space, there’s no way they can fill it all.
In fact, even in April’s draft, the Titans’ roster is still a work in progress. But that doesn’t mean Tennessee can’t significantly reduce its offseason needs and take the next steps in its rebuild. But to do that, general manager Mike Borgonzi must find the right mix and combine star power with quality depth.

When you look at the Titans’ roster today, there are clearly some issues that need to be addressed better in free agency than in the draft to optimize the initial investment.
Here are five positions that should be their priority in free agency.
Wide Receiver
Regardless of what the Titans decide to do with Calvin Ridley, acquiring a top receiver has to be at the top of the free agent wish list. Yes, they could grab some young talent in the draft, but Tennessee needs a proven receiver who can come in and make an immediate impact and give Cam Ward an established threat on the outside.

Alec Pierce and Wan’Dale Robinson have both been mentioned as possibilities, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Titans grab one early. Tennessee could still grab someone in the draft to complement their young core of Eric Ayomano and Chimir Decker, but grabbing a true difference-maker in free agency would be a great first step.
Cornerback
This is arguably the Titans’ biggest need heading into free agency, and solid veteran additions are a must. Veteran Jarius Snead has struggled since arriving in Nashville and could be moved on to a Cap transfer, while Marcus Harris remains a bit of an unknown after his promising rookie season was cut short.
Incredibly, with all the talk about the Titans’ offseason, so little attention has been paid to the cornerback position, even though it should be near the top of the roster.

Interior offensive line
The Titans released Lloyd Cushenberry, Kevin Zeitler and Corey Levine are all unrestricted free agents, leaving the Titans looking for some veteran help in the trenches. Tennessee does have Jackson Slater, who has shown some promise, but could use a veteran leader.
It does make sense to bring back Zeitler and Levis, while also adding a veteran center. There are some options on the free agent market, but the Titans shouldn’t overpay for the position.
Kicker
There has been little discussion among experts, which is surprising considering Joey Slay and Johnny Hecker are both unrestricted free agents. Tennessee must add a reliable veteran kicker this offseason to ensure the offense continues to improve when the opportunity arises. They could bring back Slay, who was solid in 2025, but if they don’t, bringing in a veteran should be one of their top priorities.

defensive line
Yes, the Titans have Jeffrey Simmons to anchor their front line, but aside from Simmons, they have next to nothing after trading away Tevondre Sweat. At this point, it feels like Tennessee is going all-in on John Franklin Miles and they have to stay the course. If they don’t, the front office will have to turn to another veteran who fits the system to help rebuild the defense.
