For many seasons, the Los Angeles Angels moved like Mike Trout. After Shohei Ohtani signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he was the sole representative of the club’s offense, but he struggled to stay healthy.

Trout missed a month of the 2025 season with a bone contusion in his left knee, and he also underwent surgery in 2024. After his comeback, he became the club’s main DH.
While Trout is doing his best to give the Angels everything he has, another guy steps up to be the voice of the offense, and that’s outfielder Joe Adell.

MLB analyst thinks Jo Adell will be Angels power king again
Mike Trout hit just 26 home runs last year, tied for third with Zach Neto. Taylor Ward had a great season with 36 homers, but it wasn’t enough to become the Halos’ home run leader.

The award will go to Adell, who hit a career-high 37 home runs in 152 games last season.
While he may take a step back this year, Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter believes he can be the Angels’ home run leader again in 2026.
“The Angels gave Joe Adell a full stage to prove himself last season despite his low batting average and middling defense. The 26-year-old finished fourth in the AL standings with a career-high 37 homers, and despite the looming potential resurgence of Mike Trout, Adell has now emerged as a top-tier threat.”
Now, if the Angels can get a healthy and resurgent year out of Trout, they could be in a much better position than they have been in years past.
