PEARL, Miss. (WJTV) – Pearl Police announced that a man was arrested after locking himself inside a home.
Pearl City Police Chief Nick McLendon said officers responded to a report of a domestic assault on Oak Park Drive on February 12, 2026. He said police determined Ray Stewart assaulted a woman.

Stewart locked himself inside the house and refused to comply, according to the police chief.
Police said Stewart had an extensive criminal record, including previous violent convictions. They said he owned multiple guns despite being a convicted felon.
Investigators obtained a warrant for Stewart’s arrest and a search warrant for his residence, McLendon said. The Pearl Police Department SWAT team was activated, and hours later, the police chief said SWAT officers used a kinetic breach to gain access to the back of the home.
