The 41-year-old Lakers superstar said of Avdija: “I was quoted on Deney and asked what I thought of his season. I said I believe he is an All-Star. He plays great basketball.”
James then spoke about the NBA superstar’s Israeli fans.
“I’ve never been there, but if I have fans there, then I hope you’ve been following my career. I hope I can inspire people there to not only excel in sports, but to be better in life. Hopefully one day I can be successful there. I hear nothing but great things.”
There were many opinions on social media regarding the NBA superstar’s remarks.

One social media user said, “Athletes who once had the courage to speak out for the injustice of others no longer exist. Things like BLM in 2020 are just a publicity stunt for people to watch bubble games. These people are being paid to be told to shut up and dribble. And they do it with pride. Disgusting.”
Others defended James’ comments.
“There is absolutely no problem with this answer,” one user posted. “What an amazing answer to a clearly set question, wow.”
