LSU’s new head coach announced on social media Friday night that he will remain in Baton Rouge after signing No. 1 overall pick Lamar Brown on the final day of the early signing period.

Kiffin may still appear on the show Saturday via a remote interview, but there are currently no plans to do so, according to The Advocate’s Wilson Alexander. At this time, set tours have been cancelled.

LSU’s surge in recruiting attracted Brown, but he delayed signing after Kiffin was announced as head coach. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Louisiana native reaffirmed his long-term commitment and officially signed with the Tigers. He is listed as an athlete who plays on both defensive lines, but Brown was considered an offensive lineman in college.

His signing caps off a strong week for LSU, which also added five-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson and eight four-star recruits. Entering the weekend, the Tigers held the No. 11 spot in the national rankings.

Kiffin has remained active since arriving from the University of Mississippi, including meeting with Brown shortly after arriving in Baton Rouge. Following an introductory press conference, his Matchday appearance will mark his second public event since being hired.

The show has frequently discussed Kiffin’s controversial departure from the University of Mississippi, and former Alabama coach Nick Saban weighed in on the timing.
