March 21 (Reuters) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that what he called an “immediate end” to U.S.-Israeli aggression was needed to end the war and wider regional conflicts, the Iranian Embassy in India said in an X post on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Pezeshkian had a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pezeshkian told Modi that there should be guarantees to prevent such “aggression” from happening again in the future. He also called on the BRICS group of major emerging economies to play an independent role in stopping aggression against Iran.

According to the Iranian Embassy in India, the Iranian president proposed a regional security framework consisting of West Asian countries to ensure peace without foreign interference.
Earlier on Saturday, Modi said in a separate post on X that he had condemned attacks on critical infrastructure in the Middle East during discussions with Pezeshkian.
The Indian Prime Minister further reiterated the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation and ensuring that waterways remain open and safe.
