Paytm is a homegrown digital payments app that offers users a wide range of services from paying utility bills to booking flight tickets. Users can also recharge mobile phones through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for their operators through the app. Just like any other mobile recharge app, users can recharge their own number or the numbers of friends and family members.
The app offers recharge plans and services from all leading telecom operators in the country. Airtel, BSNL, Jio, MTNL and Vi (Vodafone Idea) users can recharge their mobile numbers through Paytm.
How to recharge mobile phone on Paytm app via UPI
Paytm’s recharge process is very simple and straightforward. All you need to do is click on the tab and select a recharge plan following the prompts on your phone screen.
If Paytm is not installed on your phone, you can visit Google Play (for Android users) or App Store (for iOS users). Once downloaded and installed, you can log in using your registered mobile number, or create a new account if you don’t have one yet.
After successful login, follow the steps below to recharge your phone via UPI:

On the home page of the app you will see a page titled Recharge and payment. Click this button.

Enter mobile number in the box below. You can also click the small phone book icon (located to the right of the search box) to select a number from your contact list. Please note that Paytm will ask for your permission to access your mobile contacts.

Once you enter your phone number, the app will take you to a new page that will display the entered phone number along with the associated telecom operator at the top. You can also choose Change carrier If you think the associated operator is not displayed correctly. Below this you will see a Enter amount A box where you can enter the price of the recharge plan of your choice. If you don’t know the exact plan price, you can click View plan (located at the right end of the box) and select the plan of your choice.

After entering/selecting the amount correctly, the app should display the main features of the recharge plan like validity, data limit, etc. below the amount box.

Click View bank offers and promo codes Enjoy discounts and cashback offers (if available).

This will take you Select payment method Page. Here, click Bhim UPI option (should be second to last in the list).

Enter your UPI ID in the box below. Once done, just click pay.

The app will then ask you for your Unified payment interface password. Please check that your bank name and recharge amount are displayed correctly at the top.

Enter PIN and click submit Complete the process.

You should receive an SMS notification from the app and your bank confirming the transaction on your registered mobile number. The application will also display Recharge successful information. This window will have a Need help? Button – if you have questions about a transaction.
