Meta announced the expansion of verification services to India on June 7. It will allow users to obtain verified badges for their Facebook and Instagram accounts in the country. Users will be able to purchase Meta Verified, which will provide them with a blue tick and certain additional features. Meta Verified is a subscription-based service that allows users to purchase verification badges at a monthly rate of Rs. 699 on the Facebook and Instagram apps for iOS and Android. Meta also plans to launch a web-based subscription plan priced at Rs 100. 599 per month for the next few months.

Meta Verified will help users complete verification using a government ID. It will provide verified users with proactive account protection, direct account support, and more.

How to get verified on Instagram and Facebook in India

1. Open the Instagram or Facebook app on your Android or iOS device.
2. Click on the profile you want to verify.
3. Go to Settings > Account Center.
4. Select a meta-verification option. If it’s not visible, you may need to upgrade your application.
5. Select your preferred payment method.
6. Follow the instructions to verify your identity using your government ID.
7. Once authentication is complete, users will receive a verified badge on their account.

Requirements for verification through Instagram and Facebook in India

In order to obtain Meta verification in India, one must be 18 years or older. The company can also verify a user’s previous posting history. In addition to this, you will need to have an official government ID with a name and photo that matches the one on your Instagram or Facebook account.

Meanwhile, public figures, celebrities, content creators or brands can apply for a verified badge by meeting account and eligibility requirements.

Currently, Meta Verified is only available in select countries including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and India.
