Edwin van der Sar has given a glowing review of Manchester United’s newest recruit Sene Lamenz.
The Belgium international was brought in on deadline day last September after both Artai Baindil and Andre Onana made ineligible starts to the season, with the latter being demoted to back-up goalkeeper after a dismal performance in the Europa League final.

Why Manchester United only pursued Lamenz last summer

His last appearance in a Red Devils jersey was in the team’s Carabao Cup opener against Grimsby Town at the end of August. In that game, he conceded two goals to the second-tier rivals in the first half and scored as many as 12 penalty kicks in the penalty shootout, confirming Manchester United’s earliest exit from the competition.
Bayindil, meanwhile, are struggling in the Premier League.

In order to allow Ramens to play easily, Baindil started the three games before signing and the three games after signing, conceding 11 goals and Manchester United lost three games.
The Reds have lost just twice in his 20 appearances since the 23-year-old has been nominated every week, while they have also won against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

He said: “He (Lamens) performed well. He responded well to the physical demands of the Premier League. I saw him receiving the ball from the penalty spot; he showed confidence and made saves when necessary rather than trying to make unnecessary saves.
“I’m not here every day and I don’t watch every game, but he seems to have it all Want to stay here long term. “
