Liverpool have decided to bring Harry Wilson back in 2021.
The Welshman initially moved to Fulham on loan, with a four-year permanent deal attached.
It’s a stunning success for the playmaker – who spent one Championship season with the Cottagers before making waves as a Premier League regular.

He has become the team’s main creative weapon this season – scoring eight times and assisting five times in the top flight.
Additionally, he performed well for the national team, scoring a hat-trick against North Macedonia in November to advance to the World Cup semi-finals.
With his contract expiring in the summer of 2026, the 67-cap international looks set to be one of the hottest properties on the free agent market.

His Anfield career was characterized by numerous loan spells – at Crewe, Hull, Derby, Bournemouth and Cardiff – before settling down with his current employer.

That means it would be a no-brainer for Arne Slott – for a player who knows the league and the club inside and out.
While his age may be working against him – he turns 29 before next season starts – the fact that he won’t charge a transfer fee makes this a sensible move.

Will Harry Wilson accept a Liverpool role?
Liverpool insider Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo didn’t immediately deny the link – although he questioned whether Wilson was ready to be a rotational player.
“Wilson will be available on a free transfer this summer, although Fulham have not given up hope of agreeing a new contract with the Wales international,” he wrote.
“Given that he will be 29 this summer, it is almost impossible for Liverpool to be interested in him if there is a transfer fee involved in line with Fenway Sports Group’s usual transfer policy.
“Would you consider him an option for the team? Of course, especially if Liverpool need to strengthen their overall strength. He knows the club and has a lot of experience in the Premier League and international competitions.

“Can he be a direct replacement for Salah? The position may go to someone else. But the real question is whether Wilson is willing to return to the team, having been a regular in the top flight since leaving Anfield in 2021.”
