Video shared by Walla appeared to show border police trying to disperse protesters, who were sitting on the road blocking traffic.
Police later confirmed that officers arrested at least three protesters.
Walla reported that protesters allegedly shouted that police who tried to break up the protest were “Nazis.”
An anti-conscription Orthodox protest blocked a highway near Ashkelon earlier on Sunday, but the road was quickly reopened after police arrived and dispersed protesters.
