It’s unclear what led him to open fire outside the Buford Bar on West Sixth Street early Sunday morning.

Here’s what we know about the last 26 years of the shooter’s life:

  • The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Diagne came to the country on March 13, 2000, on a B-2 tourist visa.

  • Six years later, in June 2006, Diagne became a lawful permanent resident and received an IR-6 visa, the Department of Homeland Security said. The visa was obtained based on Diagne’s marriage to a U.S. citizen.

  • Diagne became a naturalized U.S. citizen on April 5, 2013.

  • KXAN learned Diagne obtained her driver’s license in 2017 and has an address on Kickapoo Cavern Drive in Pflugerville.

  • Diagne has no known criminal record. However, the Department of Homeland Security said he was arrested in Texas for a 2022 vehicle damage accident.

The FBI is serving a search warrant in response to a shooting that occurred Sunday morning at an apartment building at East Ridge Apartments in the 5200 block of Del Valeros Road, a source told KXAN.

Neighbors said they heard shouts from law enforcement officers outside, asking someone to come out of Unit 814. Neighbors said they heard loud noises including gunshots and flash-bang grenades as FBI agents entered the unit.
