We’ll have to wait a while longer to find out. The calendar does not reveal what will be discussed or where it will take place.
KIRO 7 News has reached out to his office for more information.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver acknowledged that Seattle is one of the cities the league will eventually consider for expansion.
Last summer, Silver said the league took a “big step” in expanding its roster – announcing they would conduct an in-depth analysis of all the factors affecting expansion.
He said the league’s next steps will be to look at specific markets to understand what opportunities are available in those cities, explore facilities where teams can play and gauge the level of interest from local businesses.

Then, in December, he said the league would likely make a decision on possible expansion sometime in 2026.
After the 2007-2008 season, the SuperSonics moved to Oklahoma City and changed their name to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Governor Ferguson has previously discussed interest in fielding a team. In 2004, he posted the following on Facebook: “After this weekend’s Rain City showcase, we are now perfectly ready for the Sonics’ return.”
Fans hope he’s right.
