Ex-FBI Agent Says Nancy Guthrie Case Could ‘Absolutely’ Be a Result of Elder Abuse—’Every Person Who Even Had a Tangential Relationship’ Should Be Investigated

Currently, police are investigating all possibilities in the investigation of Nancy Guthrie. This is common when there are no real clues after a while. First, the investigation must focus on the most likely scenario, but at some point, it must expand to any possible scenario. One new possibility that has been raised is elder abuse.

in an episode Brian Entin Investigates In a March 8 podcast, NewsNation reporters spoke with former FBI agents Maureen O’Connell and Jim Clemente about the case. During the conversation, Entin pointed out. “I think a lot of people can relate to that when you have older parents, you know, there’s a lot of people coming in and out of the house.”

“Whether it’s health care workers or people helping clean up, or helping your loved one take a shower or something like that.”

As for whether elder abuse should be considered in the investigation, Clement said, “Absolutely.” He continued, “I think everyone who had anything remotely related to Nancy Guthrie. Anyone who worked in the house, in the yard, in the pool. Anyone who was fixing things in the house, making deliveries, or even driving her with an Uber or a Lyft, all of those people should be concerned.”

Clement added, “Because that could be the connection that lets them know that she lives alone and is vulnerable.”

O’Connell agreed. “I also think that from what we know about Nancy, she is a very nice, kind and wonderful woman,” she said. “I have a neighbor here and I love her like a second mom to me. She’s 84 years old too. Since this started, you know, I’ve been like white rice to her. I just wish she was 10 times more careful about everything.”

Nancy Guthrie disappeared in the early hours of February 1st. As of today, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI do not have any major leads. A $1 million reward is being offered for information leading to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Savannah Guthrie said in a message posted on February 24: “It’s been 24 days since our mom was taken from her bed in the dark night, and every hour, every minute, every long night since has been painful – worrying about her, worrying about her, suffering for her, and most of all, just missing her,” Savannah said. “We still believe in miracles. We still believe she can come home. Hope and hope. As my sister said, we are blowing out the embers of hope.”

“We also know she may be lost; she may be gone. She may have returned to the Lord she loved and is dancing in heaven with her mom, her dad, her beloved brother Pierce, and our dad,” Savannah added. “If that’s what it is, then we’ll all live with it. But we need to know where she is. We need her home.”
