fox news host Jessica Tarlov No mercy when talking about the president Donald Trumptreatment of the economy.
“Team Trump knows the economy is deteriorating. Good luck” [Joe] Biden For the economy that Republicans created,” she said in a post on X. “Trump just set the economy on fire, and not in a good way, like a dumpster fire. “
Tarlov accused the Trump administration of withholding key economic data because the numbers looked bad. “We no longer get jobs numbers, GDP numbers or inflation numbers,” she said on a recent episode of “The Five.” “We know Donald Trump, if a number is slightly better or he can lie, he will tell you what the number is.”
The Trump team knows the economy is deteriorating. That’s why he’s on the road, and that’s why they stopped releasing jobs, GDP and inflation data.

She also raised troubling signs in the economy that have been confirmed by media reports: layoff trends approaching Great Recession levels, 70% of Americans saying they are paying more for groceries, 60% seeing utility bills rise, and a nine-month contraction in manufacturing.
Tarlov pushed back against Republican claims that economic problems stem from Biden’s policies. “The idea that this guy who’s been out for a year, when you implement a whole new economic agenda and it’s all his fault and basically fails in every corner, doesn’t really resonate with people,” she said on Fox News.
Tarlov mentioned that Biden had to deal with some serious issues when he first took office. “Donald Trump doesn’t have the same problems that Joe Biden does,” she said. “He didn’t have a supply chain problem. He didn’t have a global health pandemic that killed millions of people around the world.”

Tarlov also criticized Trump’s trade policies, including the $12 billion farmer bailout that followed his tariff decision. “He didn’t need to impose tariffs in the first place,” she said. “Farmers are speaking out about this. This is Donald Trump’s problem. He’s the one who caused this.”
