Epic Games and Walt Disney announced that they will build a shared universe featuring Disney characters and IP in Fortnite in 2024. Now, Fortnite is launching a new limited-time mode that brings Disneyland to the popular battle royale game. The new Fortnite island, called “Disneyland Game Rush,” will launch on November 6 and will feature several mini-games based on Disneyland attractions.
Fortnite players can log in on Thursday and find the Disneyland Game Rush island by searching the title or using the island code 4617-4819-8826 (via IGN). Keep in mind that the new island isn’t a battle royale mode, but a series of Disney-themed mini-games.
The Disneyland Game Rush Island features seven mini-games that are accessed through a central hub area similar to a Disney theme park. These mini-games are modeled after Disney properties and popular theme park rides. These include Spider-Man from Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsled and Spider-Man.
Disneyland Island will be available in Fortnite for a limited time.
As early as February 2024, Disney announced that it would acquire a $1.5 billion (approximately Rs. 12,400 crore) stake in Fortnite maker Epic Games as part of a collaboration that will create a shared universe in Fortnite featuring Disney’s Star Wars, Marvel and Avatar titles.
While the purported shared universe in which players will be able to experience and purchase Disney characters in Fortnite has yet to materialize, Epic Games has introduced several Disney features into the game over time, including skins and characters from Disney movies, as well as the controversial AI-powered Darth Vader from Star Wars.
The Simpsons in Fortnite
Earlier this week, Fortnite also added The Simpsons’ Springfield Island to its battle royale mode. Epic Games launches The Simpsons to Fortnite Springfield on November 1, featuring The Simpsons art style, characters and iconic locations. The new island supports an 80-player battle royale mode, using the cartoon-style town of Springfield from The Simpsons as the map.
The mode also comes with the Springfield Battle Pass, which rewards players with skins for characters including Homer, Marge, and Flanders from The Simpsons. The island also features weapons and gadgets based on The Simpsons.
Springfield Island in Fortnite is also popular. Epic Games confirmed on Wednesday that “Fortnite” saw its highest number of new and returning players in a 48-hour period since the last holiday season following the launch of the new mode.
