Famous Boston pizza brand shutters longtime location

Boston’s famous pizza chain is not far away.

East Coast Associates, which handles public relations for Boston Restaurant Associates and Regina Pizzeria, confirmed to MassLive on Thursday that Regina Pizzeria is closing its Fenway location after more than a decade.

A spokesman said the restaurant’s lease had expired and the company decided not to renew it at Fenway Park. All other Regina Pizzeria locations remain open, including all other locations in Boston.

Regina Pizzeria first opened in Boston’s North End 100 years ago and has been a Boston culinary landmark for decades.

Fenway first opened in 2013, EaterBoston reported at the time. The Patch reports that the Fenway location is part of Regina Pizzeria’s expansion plan, during which time Regina Pizzeria has opened approximately 20 locations in Boston and the greater Boston area.

Today, Regina Pizzeria still has a strong presence in the area, with more than a dozen locations from its original North End location to the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

Regina Pizzeria in Fenway, 1330 Boylston St., Boston, is now closed.
