Georgia is in good shape after a rough midseason stretch, winning four of its last five games. The Bulldogs have moved into the locked category in ESPN’s latest NCAA Tournament predictions.

Georgia still has a lot to do. The Bulldogs were the No. 9 seed in the USA Today rankings heading into the Alabama game. If Georgia can pick up a few more wins, it will be in a much better position in the NCAA Tournament.

The Bulldogs and coach Mike White may actually end up as a No. 7 seed or even higher with a season-finale road win over Mississippi State on Saturday and multiple SEC Championship wins. Georgia currently sits at 20-9, including 9-8 in SEC play.
After its win over Alabama, nearly every analyst had Georgia basketball a lock to win the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs have posted three straight 20-win seasons under coach Mike White, who deserves much of the credit for Georgia’s success.

Georgia relies on several veterans to get the job done
UGA analyst Graham Coffey gave a shout-out to the return of Georgia veterans Blue Cain and Dylan James. In the age of the transfer portal, their experience cannot be underestimated. “At 4-1 in their last five games, they’ve locked up a return to the NCAA tournament,” Coffey said.

Georgia should have a low-pressure option on Sunday
“White puts Georgia in a great position to make back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances,” Jeff Goodman said.
