Duke has struggled this season, going into Thursday’s game against South Dakota State with a 4-6 record. After a four-game losing streak, the Blue Devils picked up a solid win at Virginia Tech and took on the Jackrabbits on Thursday, winning 97-54.
The game was tight for much of the first quarter, with South Dakota State trailing 15-16 with 2:35 left. Then Duke blew the jackrabbit away.

Duke kept SDSU from scoring again until 7:22 into the second quarter, when the lead grew to 35-17. At halftime, the score expanded to 55-28, and the game was basically over.
That’s a big change from before, and when you combine that with Virginia Tech’s win, it might be a sign that some of the issues have been ironed out.
Taina Mair scored 22 points to lead Duke with a 9-12/3-4 record. Toby Fournier had 20 points and 9 rebounds, and Riley Nelson had 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Jordyn Wood lost her starting job after a disastrous taunt at West Virginia, but seemed to have regained some trust: She came off the bench for 25 minutes and scored 10 points on 4-6/2-3 shooting. She also had seven rebounds.

Duke visits Belmont on Saturday and then Syracuse after Christmas, and we should have a better idea of the situation by then.
