During the season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their level of confidence in the team or their thoughts on other topics.
The Browns just lost to the San Francisco 49ers, but fan confidence is down just 6 points each week to 45%. I think fans are a little concerned that the team won’t make the playoffs, but they’re still invested in what they see at the quarterback position and feel that special teams is only a “this season” issue and won’t worsen long-term. Fans of the Browns’ opponent this week, the Tennessee Titans, have 9% confidence in the direction of the team.
We posed another question to fans this week, asking who had the better game among this week’s rookie quarterbacks: Cam Ward or Sherdel Sanders? Sanders won by a wide margin with 82% of the vote, while Ward received just 18%. That seems a little too lopsided considering Sanders only made two starts and Ward was the No. 1 pick in the draft.

It’s difficult to evaluate Ward as a rookie. He had seven touchdown passes and six interceptions, but the Titans’ offensive line gave him a lot of hits. Meanwhile, the Browns will bring in two new starters on the right side of the offensive line this week because the quarterback (Sanders) is also holding the ball too long. This poll didn’t ask about the long-term prospects of these players, but at least this week, I think Browns fans are expecting Cleveland’s defense to dominate games and create more favorable situations for Sanders to perform better.
