The New York Giants are under new management this year, with John Harbaugh taking over as head coach. This means the “Harbaugh Way” will be in effect throughout the building as well as on the practice and game fields.
Harbaugh was known for his teams’ physical style during his 18 seasons as head coach. He brought that style to New Jersey, and the team’s offseason moves have reflected the type of football player he likes — big, smart, aggressive.

Carl Banks has been with the team for 40 years, first as an All-Pro linebacker on the Giants’ storied defense in the 1980s and then as the lead analyst on the team’s radio show, and he likes what he’s seen so far under Harbaugh.
“He’s a no-nonsense guy. (He) likes physical contact,” Banks said on WFAN, via NJ Advance Media. “He’s going to make sure the best players succeed, right?”
Yes, that’s what he does best. Harbaugh knows what a winning team looks like and will make sure he continues his winning ways with the Giants.
Banks also likes the team’s attitude and the players they’ve brought in. The Giants will no longer be pushed around.

“I like that they have a long, skinny linebacker,” Banks said. “That tells me they’re not going to play flag football like the Giants defense now. They’re going to be physical. They’re going to be athletic, they’re going to be strong, and that’s what I like.”
Training camp will be a wake-up call for anyone who has never been to Harbaugh. It may come as a shock to some returning veterans – there is no more flag football. The Giants are going to be tough guys again.
