The Buffalo Bills are entering a critical offseason.

Sean McDermott is no longer the head coach and Joe Brady takes over, bringing with him a new set of coaches. The roster may also need a revamp to help deal with the salary cap and simply freshen things up.

Dawson Knox is one player whose name will come up.

ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg listed the veteran tight end as a candidate for elimination in a new article on Thursday.

“Under Knox’s current contract, the Bills can save nearly $9.7 million in cap space this offseason,” Gersenberg wrote. “Knox recently appeared on former teammate Mitch Morse’s podcast and was unsure if he would be retained after speaking with Beane after the season.”

Knox is one of those guys that Josh Allen seems to trust, which could make it hard for him to let go.

“Knox has spent his seven-year career with the team and has been a vital part of the offense and tight end space,” Gersenberg wrote.

If the Bills cut Knox, they still have two quality tight ends.

Dalton Kinkaid has battled injuries, but when healthy he is a weapon in the passing game.

Jackson Hawes is coming off a promising rookie season in which he was especially impressive as a blocker.

For Buffalo to have the best team possible moving forward, some tough decisions may need to be made. Cutting off Knox qualifies.
