Anderson Silva turns down comeback fight on ‘Rousey vs. Carano’ card — but not because he’s loyal to UFC

The Most Valuable Promotion (MVP) is recruiting any big-name players who are not under contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). In terms of legacy, they don’t get much bigger than former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

It also helps that Silva has worked with MVP before.

“Zhongzuo [Bidarian] Invite me to come and compete in MMA or kickboxing,” Silva told Ariel Helwani. “But because I’m in the process now [of becoming a police officer] To learn, to keep my mind focused on one thing, I just said, “Oh, I can’t this time.” But when I’m done with the whole thing, maybe I’ll have one or two more fights, just boxing. “

Silva has a 4-2 record as a boxer, with three knockouts.

“I don’t want to train in MMA anymore, it’s too difficult for me [come] Back to training MMA,” Silva added. “Of course, I train jiu-jitsu every day. I train boxing two days a week. But MMA no, not anymore. “

Silva, 50, is currently training to become a police officer.
