Monster Hunter Wilds Crosses 1 Million Concurrent Players on Steam on Launch Day

Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on Friday, and the action RPG has quickly become a hit on Steam. It has now become one of the most played games within hours of launch in the history of the platform. The number of simultaneous online players for “Monster Hunter: Wild” on Steam has exceeded 1 million, surpassing the all-time high number of players for popular games such as “Cyberpunk 2077”, “Elden Ring” and “Hogwarts Legacy”.

According to SteamDB charts, as of the time of writing this article, Monster Hunter: Wild’s highest number of concurrent players on Steam has reached 11,87,077. Currently, the game ranks seventh on the Valve platform, surpassing games such as “Cyberpunk 2077”, “Elden Ring”, “Hogwarts Legacy” and “Baldur’s Gate 3”.

While developer Capcom has yet to release sales figures, Steam player numbers indicate that the game’s launch has been incredibly successful despite some issues faced by PC players. Since players are using PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, the total number of players for Monster Hunter Wilds is likely to be much higher.

Capcom’s latest action RPG also easily surpasses its predecessor, Monster Hunter World. The action RPG launched in 2018 has peaked at 3,34,684 players on Steam.

Monster Hunter: Wild currently has an overall “mixed” rating on Steam, as PC players complain about technical and performance issues. Capcom has also admitted that the game has issues on PC.

“Hunters!
