The nefarious nexus came to light last Friday (May 8) when three men, Mukeem, Gufran and Md. Faisal, were arrested outside the Arun Jaitley Stadium during an IPL 2026 match between home team Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

After interrogation, the Delhi Police found the name of a person named Pankaj Yadav, who was also arrested and later four DDCA officials were urged to join the investigation.

As per BCCI regulations, the host state associations of IPL matches will receive free tickets for 10 to 15 per cent of the total stadium capacity and around 4,000 tickets will be issued to association members.
