Prep Roundup 5/13: Badin baseball wins 15th straight

May 14—Badin baseball rallied to defeat Elder 5-2 in a 15th consecutive victory for the program on Wednesday, May 13.

Elder jumped out to a 2-0 lead but Badin answered with a pair of runs in the fourth inning before taking the lead for good with three runs in the fifth.

Keegan Sawyer lined a double and a triple and Vince Laugle and Austin Vangen drove in a pair of runs each to lead the Rams.

After a 4-3 start to the season Badin has rattled off 15 straight wins, including a 10-0 record in the Greater Catholic League Co-Ed and a 19-3 mark overall.

The Rams will host Springboro on Thursday, May 14 before meeting Centerville at Great American Ball Park on Saturday, May 16 to close out the week.

Northmont 15, Graham 4: Austin Welch drove in four runs off two hits and Chase Fuduloff tacked on two hits and two RBI to lead Northmont.

Lakota East 3, Lakota West 2: Brayden Reinhart hit an RBI-double and Connor Magato and Gavin Byrd plated a run apiece to lead East in the rivalry win. Kameron Gaalaas knocked a solo home run in the loss for West.

Tippecanoe 8, Butler 6: Ethan Harney drove in four runs on three hits and was named the PNC Bank MVP after helping spark a Tipp rally in a Reds Futures High School Showcase game.

Urbana 14, Hilliard Darby 1: Kevin Endres smacked a double and a home run, finishing with four RBI to lead the way for Urbana. Grady Lantz added two extra-base hits with three RBI.

Tecumseh 9, Fairborn 3: Brandon Radford laced a double and drove in three runs while Chase Howard added two hits and two RBI for Tecumseh.

Monroe 9, Franklin 1: Dawson Watts and Ethan Ensor combined on a three-hitter and Keegan O’Hara legged out a triple with two RBI to help Monroe improve to 17-4.

Edgewood 6, Carroll 4: Carson Downie broke the Edgewood single season record for strikeouts, notching his 82nd of the year.

Middletown Madison 4, Carlisle 3: Owen King picked up the complete game victory for Madison.

Mississinawa Valley 1, Twin Valley South 0: Cole Hanes scored Caleb Spradling on a sac-fly for the lone run in the top of the eighth inning.

Covington 21, Jackson Center 0: Jayda McClure hit for the cycle on a 5-for-5 day, driving in five runs to pace Covington. Ava Hartwig tacked on three doubles with four RBI.

Greeneview 6, Preble Shawnee 5: Gabbie Burkett and Bella Sutton drove in two runs apiece and Greeneview pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.
