Nebraska baseball falls in Coaches Poll after weekend struggles

Nebraska baseball is ranked No. 24 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll rankings released Monday morning.

The Huskers struggled last weekend. They were swept by Ohio State in Columbus. This is the show’s first series sweep of the season.

The numbers are a testament to Nebraska’s struggles on the scoreboard. They scored five points in the entire series and led 19-5. These results greatly affected their chances of advancing to the NCAA Regionals. It’s still a possibility, but it’s an uphill battle right now.

Even so, the show had a strong season. Their current record in the Big Ten is 34-14 and 17-7.

Nebraska will look for the comforts of home as it takes on Iowa in the final series of the regular season. With the playoffs starting, this could be their chance to get back on track.
