Michael Soroka makes another big impression on Diamondbacks in win over Braves
“I think we trailed a little bit more than we would have liked, but (catcher Gabriel Moreno) and I made some good decisions, some throws late in the count, good throws by guys in scoring position, and let the defense work and get the win,” Soroka said. “My game was as good as I expected it to be. I think that’s a big thing. You can’t give it your all every day and obviously last game was a little better.”

Sewald made up for the loss with dinner and a movie, then earned a key save for Soroka
“I walked into the training room and did the exact same thing,” Sewald said. “If I strike out, I’m going to do the same thing. So, you go home, I’ll have dinner, watch a movie, and then we’ll come back today and like I said, the easiest way to flush it out is to throw it right away.” https://www.mlb.com/dbacks/news/michael-soroka-throwing-error-help-d-backs-beat-braves

Tori Lovullo says Diamondbacks need to stop chasing balls out of batter’s box
“We’re running at a really high chase rate right now,” Lovullo said. “If we focus and try not to do too much and wait for our pitches, that’s the art of hitting and the beauty of baseball. When you do that, it’s music to the ears. When you’re chasing, you’re setting yourself up for a bad count. Pitchers have nasty stuff. You have to slow down the game, swing at bat, see the baseball, understand what the batter is asking. That’s the simplicity of hitting to me. We get a little anxious trying to do too much, in my opinion.”

D guard Laural expected to miss 6-8 weeks with broken wrist
“It’s frustrating,” Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen said. “I’m sure he’s more frustrated than we are. He looks great. He’s doing a really good job in the outfield and he’s hitting the ball really well. We’re going to miss him, but we’ll keep the train going until he comes back.”
