Brian Hodgson’s one-year tenure with the South Florida men’s basketball team will come with a bigger job.
The Bulls head coach is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of the Providence basketball team, according to multiple reports. Hodgson led USF to a 25-9 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in the 2025-26 season.

He led the Bulls to a 15-3 record in the American Conference, winning the regular season and conference tournament with 12 games and qualifying for the NCAA tournament for the first time as a head coach.
Providence fired head coach Kim English on March 13 after going 15-18 this season. English went 48-52 in three years with the program, never reaching the NCAA tournament.
