TORONTO (AP) — Raygan Kirk had 33 shots in her first PWHL shutout as the Toronto Scepters beat the Seattle Thrashers 2-0 on Sunday.
Blair Turnbull scored on a 2-on-1 rush four minutes into the game, and Sarah Hjalmarsson added an empty-net goal with 7.8 seconds left.

Kirk was at his best late in the second quarter, when Seattle (5-1-2-11) surrounded the Maces (7-1-5-8) at its own end. She made nine saves in that span. It was Kirk’s seventh time of the season with 30 or more pit stops.
The Maces (3-0-2-0) have earned a point in each of five games since the Olympic break.
The Rapids defeated Toronto 33-25. Seattle’s Hannah Murphy made 24 saves, 11 of which came in the final 20 minutes.
Daryl Watts is not a good fit for Toronto. The Canadian Olympian has been unable to shake off a lingering flu bug since returning from the Winter Olympics three weeks ago.
U.S. captain Hilary Knight (knee) and Olympic teammate Hannah Birka (upper body) did not compete.

The Maces’ goal tally increased to 41 in 21 games. Only the expansion Torrents (40 goals in 19 games) and the Vancouver Goldeneyes (35 goals in 19 games) have scored less.
