Las Vegas Albertsons closing sparks shopping rush

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Shoppers in the Las Vegas Valley are flocking to the Albertsons Supermarket near Flamingo Road and Maryland Avenue in search of last-minute deals after the grocery store chain announced plans to close that specific location. The company said it was closing the location to improve “operational efficiencies.”

The store held a closing sale, offering 50% off most items and exempting some items. The parking lot was packed when 8 News Now arrived on Friday.

Tulloch said her family lives on the other side of town but came after hearing the news.

“We know the current situation and situation in Iran, so all the prices are skyrocketing,” Tulloch said. “It’s not easy right now for people who have actually been through this. So that’s why we’re here.”
