VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Police Department detained 37 minors during an unscheduled curfew enforcement operation at the Virginia Beach oceanfront resort area on March 7 and 8, according to police.
A shooting occurred Saturday night on Atlantic Avenue in the Virginia Beach oceanfront area. Coverage is as follows:

Of the 37 minors detained, police released 34 to their parents without warning.
The remaining three minors were arrested and booked into the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center on multiple charges, including two minors who were found to be illegally carrying firearms.
Enforcement officers began at 11pm on March 7 and continued until the early hours of Saturday, March 8.
City of Virginia Beach moves nighttime curfew for unaccompanied minors (under 18) by one hour, from 11 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Restrictions in public spaces will remain in place until 5am in a bid to reduce late-night incidents and improve safety during the busy spring and summer months.
Violations of these regulations will result in a Class 4 misdemeanor, officials said.
