Australia crush India by 10 wickets in women’s pink-ball test

Australia’s women’s national cricket team defeated India’s women’s national cricket team by 10 wickets in the one-off Test on Sunday night after dominating the competition for three consecutive days.

Australia first bowled out India for 149 in the second innings and then easily chased down the small target of 25 runs without losing a wicket.

The win was also a special moment for Australia captain Alyssa Healy, who ended her Test career with a resounding win against India.

India returned to action on day three with a score of 105 for six. Pratika Rawal scored 63 runs while Sneh Rana added 30 runs to help India reach 132 runs. However, the team was unable to form a strong partnership.

Rana was bowled by Ashley Gardner, sparking a collapse in India’s batting. Australia ended the innings quickly, with Annabel Sutherland taking a good catch to dismiss Rawal and end India’s resistance.

Australian openers Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield managed just 25 runs to achieve the target in just 4.3 overs.

“We started well by winning the series in T20Is but couldn’t continue the good results in ODIs and Tests, but playing the entire series in Australia was a good experience. The pink-ball Test was a different challenge,” India captain Harmanpreet Kaur said after the match.

Her Australian counterpart Healy said: “It’s been incredible to come back from that T20 series loss and we’re so proud of the group.

“I’m going to sing this team’s song for the last time, but it’s great to see this team moving on and getting some good results. It’s been a great last week or so,” Healy said.
