Hegseth Lashes Out at Media Because Americans Killed Are ‘Front Page News’ — to Make Trump ‘Look Bad’

minister of defense Peter Heggs Slamming news media for tragic deaths in Iran war becomes ‘front-page news’ for president Donald Trump “It looks bad.”

At least six American service members have been killed in combat since Trump announced that the United States was attacking Iran. Iran continues to launch counterattacks across the region, including strikes against U.S. assets.

Hegers held a joint news conference for the Pentagon press corps on Wednesday morning, opening with a hyperbolic ode to the “death and destruction” caused by U.S. air power.

But Hegseth used part of his speech to accuse “fake news” of trying to “make the president look bad” by highlighting the deaths of Americans, which he described as “when a few drones fly over or tragic events occur.”

The latter may also refer to the strike that allegedly killed more than 150 children and is “under investigation”:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth: This is not a mission accomplished situation. This is just a reality check.

The combination of U.S. and Israeli intelligence and combat power will control Iran, and will soon control it.

Of course, Iran will still be able to launch some missiles, will still be able to launch one-way strike drones at civilian targets, and their proxies will try to attack our embassies, bases, and soft targets.

After all, they are terrorists. They need to target civilians because they can’t go head-to-head.

But we will find them and we will kill them.

This is exactly what fake news misses. We control Iran’s airspace and waterways without ground troops. We control their destiny.

But when a few drones fly over or a tragic incident occurs, it becomes front-page news.

I get it, the media just wants to embarrass the president, but let’s try to report the reality.

The terms of this war will be dictated by us every step of the way. As I said on Monday, this mission is highly focused.

Destroy Iran’s missiles, drones and their production facilities, destroy its navy and critical security infrastructure, and cut off its access to nuclear weapons. Iran will never possess a nuclear bomb, at least not under our watch.

That’s why President Trump’s moral clarity on Iran today is so important.
