Everton will look to revive their home form when they face Burnley at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday.
The Toffees have not won at home since early December and suffered back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester United before recording a memorable win away from home in their last game.

David Moyes’ side beat Newcastle United 3-2 at St James’ Park, with goals from Jarrad Branthwaite, Berto and Tierno Barry. The Toffees took the lead twice and were leveled twice, but took the lead shortly after the equalizer.
Jordan Pickford also made his “best save ever” in the final minute of stoppage time, hitting Sandro Tonali’s powerful shot against the crossbar to protect the team’s three points. Everton currently ranks eighth in the league with 40 points.
They have been the second most efficient away team in the Premier League since Moyes returned more than a year ago. However, to say that their recent form at home – four losses and two draws in their last six games – is worrying would be an understatement.
The last time Everton faced Burnley, the teams were locked in a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor shortly after Christmas.

Burnley sit second from bottom in the league table and have a long way to go to avoid a drop-off at the end of the season. They have lost three of their last five games, losing 4-3 to Brentford last weekend.

Personally, after a great performance, I think Beto deserves a fresh start.
The dilemma for Moyes is Armstrong, McNeil or George…
He wouldn’t change anything else.

Ian, we’re at home and need to pick up the pace to open up the defence.
Let George play on the right and Ndiaye on the left.

I have a feeling Dewsbury-Hall will be rested for this one, but I believe he will stick with Gueye and N’Diaye.
We don’t need McNeil in this one, we need speed and directness.
Berto deserves another try after his efforts at the weekend, so for me the players for McNeil are Tyrique George, Dewsbury Hall’s Harrison Armstrong, although Tim Irogbunan performed well against these players last time out.

We should crush this team. Their quality is nowhere near the Premier League.
That’s why they were relegated long before the season was over.

Burnley have no pace and Branthwaite should have no problem dealing with Darmsgaard, but they will block low throughout the game.
It could be a scary game to try and break them. George has a good shot against him, start him and he’ll score. Ndiaye has regained his energy and hunger.
I agree with Jay – starting with Beto, George and N’Diaye rotating wings throughout.

If we play George and he scores and we win, it might change the atmosphere and expectations on the court. Even Burnley.
It is definitely an opportunity and must be seized.
But continuing to do things the same way, without taking any risks, may have the opposite effect.
Just do it, Moyesi, give him an hour to adjust.

Burnley drew with Chelsea and Liverpool in their last four away games, won against Crystal Palace and lost to Sunderland.
Not many games are easy for Everton, especially at Bramley-Moore Dock, nearly three months since we last won a game there.

Since that win, we’ve taken 2 points from a possible 18, so I think most people will take any kind of win tomorrow night.

We often say, don’t change a winning team, but this is Moyes we’re talking about…
I don’t see any changes, but is the McNeil game appropriate for two games in three days?

Burnley at home should allow Moyes to take some risks. If he doesn’t play in this game, I doubt he’ll do it for the rest of the season.
I want to see –
The back 4 remains the same, with Dieblin or George on the right and Ndiaye on the left (his best position);

Garner rested after a weekend shift and was replaced by either Armstrong or Rolle;
Berto came out on top after earning his spot.
To my surprise, Barry gets similar reviews on most sites and he does a really good job, but I think Berto’s performance is the best of the two guys I’ve seen this season. Of course, this is a pretty low bar.

Dave, great point about Barry, man…I don’t know how I missed it.
Wondering if Beto subconsciously feels more excited this time of year? The weather was just starting to get less cold, and he was used to warmer climates before, so he wouldn’t be the first.

Also around this time last year, a purple patch appeared on his body. Anyway, hope it continues.

Berto is more of a threat than Barry, he has more speed and power.
Our odds on tomorrow’s game are 4/7, but anyone who backed us at this price over the past 12 months has been asleep. Anything can happen in this game as our hosts Jinx and Burnley start to find their groove.
I admit I’m one of the natural pessimists, but it does look like another banana peel to me.
I hope I’m obviously wrong, because another 3 points would be really handy.

Moyes is constantly criticized for transforming a winning team… Forest and Villa?

I hope he can once again play N’Diaye in his best position – undoubtedly on the left wing.

Probably because we lost the next two games, Eric.
The same thing happened when he changed teams for Chelsea, who had just recorded two wins.

I posted this in the wrong thread, but here it is anyway…
What I got from Moyes was the No. 11 away game against Newcastle, which may not work against Burnley at home.
advertise
Although Moyes’ rock blunted Newcastle’s scissors, the football was lined up for much more than that.
Coleman (IMO observation) may or may not be injured – but in any case he is definitely not fit for the Premier League
He has opened up space on the bench and Moyes is preparing us for the changes.
God help me and save me from Moyes having so many options that he cannot second guess himself.
When he finally does like Rachel Riley and picks 4 from the top line and 5 from the bottom line… let’s face it, Pickford and Beto have to start… giving us 9 starting names in the outfield – hopefully he gets it right.

I know there are no easy games and a lot of people (not me) are talking about Europe.
But this is Burnley, not Barca – they are there for a reason.

You’ve read my mind, Steve, because while I will certainly retain the tactics that made us so effective on the road, I still think your defenders need to move forward more in home games
John Collins

I agree that the full-backs need to get forward, but I wouldn’t take Garner out of midfield tonight.
Mykolenko’s passing ability is very poor. We had two assists in over 120 games.

John, he’s not a defender, he’s our best midfielder, O’Brien is similar, he’s just not really a defender and can do a lot of other things besides defending.
He won’t play against Patterson, so he refuses to give us the balance on the wing, which I think is what the team needs when they get more possessions. Personally I think our results at home suffered as a result.

Tony – Is it considered to have Aznul provide some attacking speed on the left wing to balance out O’Brien’s lack of speed on the right wing?
I knew it wasn’t going to happen, but Aznou was permanently naughty after his comments on social media, which was Moyes at his most stubborn.

I guess we’ll have to wait until 6:15 to find out which two players are injured and how that will change the team’s options.

I wonder if we’ll see George start, and maybe, if we’re very lucky, we might even see the less spotted Diblin.

If we want the European title, Moyes should take this game extremely seriously. We should make sure we score as many goals as possible in the first half.
If we can score more goals, at least let the fringe players get valuable playing time.

I haven’t seen this kid play Philip, but to be honest, I prefer N’Diaye on the left.
I don’t mind O’Brien, defensively, I don’t think he has a lot of defensive nightmares as a fullback, but I just don’t think he’s able to attack and get involved enough in a more advanced position on the field, and it really frustrates me to see him playing as a fullback in our home games.

George looks like a player with speed and ability, maybe he’ll play left? I don’t know, but the other thing that really frustrates me is the lack of bench time for young players.
