Redshirt freshman forward Lauren Whittaker tied the record for most West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week awards in a single season with 12.
Whitaker tied the West Coast Conference record for Freshman of the Week honors, a record originally set by Santa Clara guard Tess Hill in 2022-23. The league begins selecting the Freshman of the Week for the 2020-21 season.
The National Freshman of the Year candidate notched two more double-doubles in her historic first season of college basketball last week in wins over the Washington State Cougars at home and on the road against the Pacific Tigers. Her 15 double-doubles in 2025-26 were the most among freshmen nationally and tied for 13th among NCAA women’s teams.

Whitaker also leads the West Coast Conference in scoring (19.0 ppg), rebounding (10.2 rpg) and field goal percentage (55.6 FG%).
