Greenville mayor, city council members honor Jesse Jackson

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Greenville City Council members and Mayor Knox White are hosting a memorial service for the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Jackson, a Greenville native, died last week at age 84.

Jesse Jackson’s legacy of unity and equality remembered

The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., ahead of tonight’s scheduled City Council meeting.

The scheduled speaker is Rev. Emanual R. Flemming, Greenville NCAAP President White. and City Council members Lillian Bullock Fleming and Ken Gibson.

The Rev. Stacey Mills of Mountain View Baptist Church will give the opening remarks, and Paston Sean Dogan of Long Branch Baptist Church will close the ceremony.
