president Donald Trump Weird post of CNN video Caitlan Collins The woman he calls the “worst reporter” is discussing a giant new banner bearing his face, which she claims has “erased” the line between the White House and the Justice Department.
On Thursday, staff used cherry pickers to put up a banner at the entrance to the Department of Justice.
“It’s almost impossible to miss the new banner with President Trump’s face that just went up at the Department of Justice,” Collins said. “If you’ve been to Washington in recent months, you’ve seen something similar at the Department of Labor or Agriculture, but given that this is the Department of Justice, it seems to have a different resonance.”
“Historically, the administration has tried to emphasize a degree of independence between the West Wing, the White House and its Justice Department, arguing that politics have no bearing on who is prosecuted,” Collins continued. “But it’s safe to say that line has been erased since President Trump took office in his second term. We’ve seen him directly pressure the attorney general to prosecute people he considers political enemies, or who are leading prosecutions against him. The Justice Department says the banner is in celebration of America’s upcoming 250th birthday celebrations, but if you look closely at the banner, it also echoes what President Trump himself has said when it comes to the slogan ‘Make America Safe Again.'”
Earlier this month, Trump called Collins the “worst reporter” who never smiles after she asked questions about victims of sex crimes. Jeffrey Epstein.
When Collins asked, “What would you say to a survivor –” Trump cut him off.
“You’re terrible, you know that? You’re the worst reporter. No wonder CNN has no ratings because of people like you. You know, she’s a young woman. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile. I’ve known you for 10 years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on your face—”
