The Baltimore Orioles are trying to get back to the playoffs and have put together an impressive offseason with a host of new players to do so.

However, Jackson Holliday will miss some time with a fractured hamate bone before spring training begins, and now another infielder, All-Star Jordan Westberg, is also injured.
According to MLB.com’s Jake Rill, the update on Westburg isn’t good news. The 27-year-old infielder will start at third base for the Orioles and will miss more than a month to start the new season.

“Jordan Westerberg has a partially torn UCL in his right elbow and will receive a PRP injection today, according to Orioles POBO/General Manager Mike Elias,” Leal reported.
It’s a brutal report for the Orioles, and with Westburg now set to miss all of April and beyond to be determined, their All-Star infielder isn’t looking good to start the season.

The 27-year-old was set to be a standout hitter for the Orioles this season, but now he will miss all of spring training and the first month of the regular season.
Westburg will look to play a major role in his fourth MLB season after posting 1.6 bWAR in 85 games missed by injury in 2025.

But due to this injury, Waitsburg will miss the game again. He has yet to play a full season in the major leagues and has played a maximum of 107 games in a season.
Westburg does have injury concerns, and this update further fuels those concerns. He entered training camp with tilt issues, but now an elbow issue will sideline him for some time.

That’s not the worst news, and he should be able to return, but the Orioles now lose a key player to start the 2026 season in a very competitive American League East.
