First day on the job and press conference at Tackham
As the blue sky on Salzburg’s horizon shone through the clouds, there was an atmosphere of focus and optimism. The Bechler Era Begins. The moment arrived at 14:00 CET after a speech in the dressing room. Our new coach sets off with our Red Bulls Taksham training ground first. During Daniel Beichler’s tenure as Red Bull Academy coach, at least 14 current players – from Soumaila Diabate and Tim Trummer to Christian Zawieschitzky – trained or played under him.
Despite the cold weather, nearly 90 minutes of comprehensive training, including various drills and drills, had us sweating profusely. However, the day is not over yet. 17:30 CET, Official press conference The appointment of the new coach took place during a ceremony where Daniel Beichler and our Sports General Manager Marcus Mann answered questions from the media.
We firmly believe that working with Daniel is a path to success. He has a clear vision of how we play with and without the ball, how we create chances and how we set guidelines for our players. Internal solutions often work very well here. We want to follow this path from the academy to Red Bull Salzburg, not only for the players but also for the staff and coaches. The expectation to work at your absolute best is always there. We now have the opportunity to focus entirely on domestic competition. It’s crucial to understand the significance of each play and become sharper in the decisive moments.
Marcus Mann, Managing Director Sports
Everything happens very quickly. It’s a huge privilege for me to be a coach here and I’m very excited about this new challenge. It was really fun to get to know the lads and get some first impressions in the first training session today. We cannot waste time – there is very little time left and we must make the most of it. Our goal is to play intense, aggressive football. We need the right mentality and belief to win against LASK and take control of the game – there’s nothing better than starting from a game like this. Ultimately, it’s about winning championships. This is our ambition as a club. Now it’s mostly about how do we achieve that, because just wishing for it isn’t enough. The best thing is to work hard and do quality work.
Daniel Bechler
The plan for the coming days is clear: Fully focused on Sunday’s top-of-the-table game against LASK. Another double training session has been scheduled for tomorrow (neither training session is open to the public).
