An Indiana high school secretary is facing charges after allegedly having sex with an underage student.

Union City police said in a statement on social media that Alicia Hughes of Union City was charged with five counts of child luring and was being held in the Randolph County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.

Hughes first came to the attention of Union City police when her husband found her with an 18-year-old student and she was assaulted.

Eventually, police claimed they found evidence that Hughes had sex with a 17-year-old student. The two allegedly had sex at least five times, police said.

It’s unclear whether Hughes has hired an attorney or entered a plea.

Hughes worked as the high school secretary for the Randolph East School Corporation, police said in a statement.

Superintendent Neal Adams said Hughes “has been relieved of all student-related duties pending the outcome of the legal process” and that the district is cooperating with law enforcement.
