President Trump is facing a lawsuit from two golfers in Washington, D.C.
The President of the United States probably enjoys playing golf the most. He owns three famous courses in the United States — one in Pennsylvania, one in Virginia and one in Florida — and wants to do more in the Washington area. President Trump is looking to take over a group of public golf courses in Washington, D.C., but some golfers aren’t happy about it.
Dave Roberts and Alex Dixon, self-described “regulars” at the East Potomac golf course, have filed a lawsuit against President Trump and his administration, The Washington Post reports.

The two golfers have filed a lawsuit against President Trump and his administration’s plan to take over the Potomac Links golf course in Washington, D.C. The two golfers are not happy with President Trump’s plan to overhaul public golf courses.
Details of lawsuit have emerged
The two golfers partnered with the Preservation Alliance of Washington, D.C., a nonprofit that advocates for the preservation of historic sites.
According to the Washington Post, “The lawsuit seeks to halt the project, revoke federal approval and prevent any reallocation or termination of existing leases pending a full review. The lawsuit alleges that the lawsuit may violate the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Historic Preservation Act and the Administrative Procedures Act, as well as the 1897 Act of Congress that created the park and calls for it to be “forever preserved and used as a park for the recreation and recreation of the people.”
Meanwhile, President Trump’s administration has yet to reveal plans for the public courses they want to take over.
“We’re going to make it a beautiful, world-class, U.S. Open-caliber course,” Trump told reporters last month. “Ideally, we’ll have the big games and everything else there. That will bring a lot of business to Washington.”
Meanwhile, a White House spokesperson commented on the lawsuit report.
“As a private citizen, President Trump built some of the world’s greatest golf courses, and he is now extending his unparalleled design skills and eye for detail to public golf courses in Washington, D.C.,” said Taylor Rogers. “The President and his extraordinary team will redevelop these dilapidated golf courses in our nation’s capital to restore charm and prestige.”
