2025 is shaping up to be an unforgettable season for the Washington Commanders. There were also injuries, especially to quarterback Jayden Daniels, a historically bad defense and a 5-12 record that cost two coordinators their jobs.
Washington has no choice but to go up in 2026.

The Commanders hope Daniels stays healthy next season after missing 10 games in 2024. Part of the reason head coach Dan Quinn fired former offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury was to see Daniels play more under center. Not only does Quinn want to see a more traditional running game in support of Daniels, but he also wants to see the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year get more opportunities to play.
New offensive coordinator David Blough, Daniels’ assistant quarterbacks coach the past two seasons, will be tasked with helping Daniels bounce back after a disappointing sophomore season. If things go the way Quinn expects, the Commanders could be in for a huge backlash.
Former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum not only believes Washington will bounce back next year, but he thinks Daniels will be the NFL MVP.
A panel of NFL experts including former Jets general managers predict the winner, loser, and MVP of next season’s Super Bowl. Tannenbaum not only made Daniels the 2026 MVP, but also made the Commanders Super Bowl champions.

First up, here are his Super Bowl predictions.
The Commander is above Bill. Quarterback Jayden Daniels remains healthy and bounces back in a big way next season. He played in every game and ended the season with a 45-42 shootout win over Allen and the Bills in Los Angeles
Now, let’s predict his MVP.
Daniels will look to bounce back from an injury-plagued 2025 season and re-establish himself as the top quarterback in the 2024 draft class. He stayed healthy, threw and ran the ball well, and made new offensive coordinator David Braff a prime head coaching candidate.
Neither of Tannenbaum’s predictions are surprising. If Daniels is healthy and back in shape, Washington can beat anyone.
Adam Peters, are you listening? Washington’s general manager is under a lot of pressure this offseason.
