Ahead of the NBA trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors are the latest team to get involved in what has been a busy few days around the league. The Warriors acquired former All-Star big man Kristaps Porzingis from the Atlanta Hawks in a blockbuster deal that included Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

In addition to welcoming a new 7-foot-2 center to the rotation, the Warriors will also be finalizing the Kuminga trade. Kuminga was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2021 draft and spent five seasons with the Warriors, winning a championship in 2022. However, Kuminga’s recent run with the Warriors has been plagued by trade rumors, trade requests, a contract impasse and a DNP. After a rocky road, Kuminga and the Warriors are parting ways, with the 23-year-old forward heading to Atlanta to join Jaylen Johnson.
