Four Milwaukee-area girls basketball players named Ms. Basketball semifinalists

On February 4, the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association announced the 10 semifinalists for the 2026 Ms. Basketball Award. The award has been presented by the association since 1982.

Here are the semifinalists, listed in alphabetical order:

Alanna Simpson, La Crosse Central

After the regular season ends in late February, the shortlist will be narrowed to five. The winner of the 2026 Ms. Basketball Award will be announced at the WIAA Girls Basketball State Championships March 12-14 in Ashwaubenon at the Resch Center.

This award has been awarded only to senior students since 2002. Nominations and selections are made by a committee composed of members of the WBCA Executive Committee.

The Milwaukee area has won the award in two of the past three seasons. Pewaukee’s Amy Terrian earned the honor in 2025, while current Connecticut linebackers Allie Ziebell (2024, Neenah) and Kamorea “KK” Arnold (2023, Germantown) earned the first two awards.
